A White Christmas
The trickles of melting snow
the crushing of pines and cones
the pile from fall
the careful tread on a frozen trail
the gentle mold of a snowball
a story or two to share with lov’d ones
by the crackling fireplace
sweetly swaddled in a soft duvet
here is to a white Christmas
of a light that embraced darkness
to save and deliver
The king that came as a son
born in a manger
borne with our burden
oh Lord of light
give us a Christmas white
not of color or loss
but of a mind right
and a path bright
that leads to everlasting light.
