Hello friend, nice to meet you!
I am Olushola Olaniyi-Adewumi.
Here are few things about me:
A human being, saved by grace through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.
A millennial with a passion for Christian homes and the family culture.
A farmer’s wife in love with a great man who loves Jesus, music, the farm and graduate education too.
A PhD. student in the field of Geomicrobiology who is intrigued by anything acid mine drainage.
A ‘naija’ girl (Nigerian) in the US, and who truly believes the words “Not all who wander are lost ” by J.R.R. Tolkein.
What this blog is all about?
To share some of my experiences as an international grad student interwoven with my Christian journey.
The international students’ community is composed of individuals from different walks of life with unique culture and diversity. Be that as it may, there is a common factor that unites us; a desire for a balanced life in the middle of it all. In the midst of classes, seminars, presentations, TA classes, demanding research, deadlines, never-ending assignments, heaps of papers, controversial topics, conflicting time zones and the highs and lows of school, this blog stands to be a quiet haven and gentle reminder of who and whose we truly are.
I pray, each time this space is visited, may God’s liberating truth be spoken to your lives as students (at any level).
May you know these:
You are loved by God
You are known by him
You are blessed
You can be a graduate student (student) and still fulfill purpose!
Grace and blessings,
Olushola.
