Easter Joy

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV).

Today is another blog day and it’s on an Easter Sunday💝! As I thought on what to write, nothing was apparent. The cycle of writing and deleting ran faster and I thought maybe there would not be a post today. “Perhaps, this is my writer’s block experience” I said to myself😢 . I wanted to share another graduate school related post but realized God was leading me somewhere else. How about sharing the joy of Easter, what it means—for the world, and not only for a graduate student.

It is the plain simple message of redemption.

The extent of God’s love for the world He created.

He loves us too much that Easter happened!

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8(NIV).

So, amid decorating the Easter eggs and egg-hunting, let’s not lose sight of what is true. Christ willingly searched until He found us without minding the cost.

13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Hebrews 9:13-14 (KJV).

Easter and the Spring season blend really well with the blooming flowers and burst of nature. The refreshing season tells us of a love so pure and true. A breath of fresh air for the entire humanity from the shackles of sin and debt. Have you read the book of Leviticus in the bible😳? The rules and different penalties for each sin is exhausting, no one could have keep up with it….I could not have.

He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24 (NIV).

Christ saved us from ourselves. Have you met yourself? We must be honest, sometimes we can be too much to handle. We are far from being perfect. God knew a way out, so, He went for it. By His stripes we claim our healing—spiritual, emotional, or physical. The event of Calvary is a constant reminder of the goodness of God in the land of the living.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3 (KJV).

It gets better! Our hope is not only in this life, this present world. If it was, I agree with Paul, that would be very sad. The great news is a wonderful place prepared ahead of us by God. An eternal time out from the limitations and misery of this world. No tears, no sorrow, no trials and tests, no failures, no pressure at all. A place beyond description but of God’s glory and fellowship with the saints. Oh! What a joy to be there.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV).

Life gets so busy; time keeps flying, things get beyond our power or control, celebration never stops, so also tragedy—such is life. So, while we move around with our business, trying to get through graduate school or some seasons in our lives: Let this be the center piece of our culture, our way of life: The resurrection power working in us daily. The finished work of salvation. The pure gospel.

Here is a song about Easter that I love so much! What a beautiful name by Hillsong Worship. You can share yours too in the comment section.

Jesus is alive and because He lives, we can face tomorrow.

Happy Easter everyone!

WHAT OTHER WAYS IS EASTER SPECIAL TO YOU?

Special note: Would you give your life to Jesus Christ? He is the way, the truth and the life. If yes, please pray the prayers below:

Lord Jesus, thank you for your death and resurrection for the salvation of my soul. Please forgive all my sins. I choose you today to follow and to obey. May your love and the holy spirit lead and guide my purpose for your glory. Thank you, my Lord and savior. Amen!

Grace and blessings,

Olushola.
