But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 2 Corinthians 2:14 (Amplified).

As we approach fall, these coming months are always eventful for admitted students, especially international students. A lot of paperwork, documentation and interviews follow the singular decision of a school to admit a student into a program with the mutual acceptance of the decision by the student. Congratulations! This period is quite exciting, the news probably makes your sky more blue, a sprinkle of some sunshine and a spring in your step. Due to these, time passes by so fast that we often miss some important details that would brace us up for the next stage. Whether you are an incoming college or grad student, the predeparture season should not be overlooked.  We will be going over some points in the coming weeks. This list may steer off a bit from the usual predeparture orientation you kinda expect, stick around, we are getting there.

Gratitude.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, Luke 17:15 (KJV).

This simple but powerful act presents a recess from the season God just brought you through and sets a pace for what lies ahead. Gratitude is an attitude that shows God our humble admiration of His wonderful acts towards us. Phew! It may have felt like you just went through some stuffs and you pushed yourself so hard till you achieved your goal, it does not make sense to stop now.

Pause. Thank God first.

Jesus met ten lepers on His way to Jerusalem and after the encounter, only one came back to thank God for healingā€”Jesus told him his faith has made him well. The journey ahead needs your wholeness and wellness in addition to the healing.

As you prepare a packing list, travel checklist, to-do list for a smooth transition and many more, add a thank you-list and you will be surprised what length that could take you before God and before men. This season (like any other season of a breakthrough) is a gift from God, enjoy it but I will say do the needful!

Special note: Would you give your life to Jesus Christ? He is the way, the truth and the life. If yes, please pray the prayers below:

Lord Jesus, thank you for your death and resurrection for the salvation of my soul. Please forgive all my sins. I choose you today to follow and to obey. May your love and the holy spirit lead and guide my purpose for your glory. Thank you, my Lord and savior. Amen!

Grace and blessings,

Olushola.
